August 13 ~ Hurricane Watch and Prayer Time to Relax, Camp Life and Drum Practice
Winter Haven's Warrior Pathfinder Club in Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Friday morning brought more concern for loved ones, friends and church family than for how cold or how windy it might be in Oshkosh. Most campers checked hourly with family back home to see the status of Hurricane Charlie. Florida Pathfinder Staff and guests joined together (with Winter Haven church leaders at home) for a season of prayer for God's protective care. All agreed that lives were more important than property. These photos are the group gathered for prayer.

Camp life involves a variety of activities from play to work. Meals are always the gathering time for both young and old. Adults might do the cooking, but campers do their own dishes (if they don't, they will have to eat the next meal on dirty plates) and replace them in the numbered bags, one for each camper. Time to relax is welcome and most will admit they have not walked this much in a long time. Camporee excitement is still high, and all are anticipating a wonderful Sabbath and evening final programming. Oh, yes, there will be frantic final pin trading Saturday night as well as bargain hunting at the "commercial" shops. Look for Sabbath activities tomorrow.
