L PWhile I'm struggling to get out of here
and getting dried off, enjoy the pictures below of Winter Haven's Adventurer Warriors at Funday, 2005 From "Camp Down" in Windemere, Florida
(Click on photo to enlarge, use back arrow to return to photo thumbnails.)
As you can see by the pictures, this campout had a multi-cultural theme. The young people learned about some of the customs,
foods and apparel of different countries. The Winter Haven Adventurer's club theme was Japan. They learned what some words
like; God, prayer, Jesus and Heaven, look like when written in Japanese.
The Adventurers also made 'origami cups' and served lemonade and desert to all who came by their booth.
Their colorful Japanese komonos made a cheerful addition to the camp parade. The spectators enjoyed hearing
them sing a song they learned in Japanese.
This campout also culminated a program where approximately 1000 packages of new underwear was collected
for children living in Russian orphanages. Another benefactor of this campout was 'Blind camp' with approximately $60.00 dollars
raised for that organization.
The young people, as well as the staff, had a terrific time and would like to publicly say a big THANK YOU to all
who, by their support, make it possible for them to take part in activities such as this.
