2004 Golf Tournament     Highlighted By 184-Yard Hole-in-One Motorcycle Winner

Grenelefe Golf Resort’s tournament quality South Course was ready on February 8, 2004. Prize placards were all in place and 65 players were ready to play. The weather was cold, but the golf was hot. There were 3 hole-in-one prizes available, but only one stole the show.

Adam Lacek, one of a foursome from the Clermont Pathfinder Club chose a 4 Iron and new Titleist ball for his shot on the 184-yard, 11th hole. It was the right choice as he watched the ball hit the green and roll straight into the cup. At 15 he was one of the youngest players and the biggest winner of the day. He walked away as the proud owner of the 2003 Yamaha V-Star 1100 motorcycle. That was the highlight of the tournament, but he was by far not the only winner. There were contests for every hole and cash prizes for: Team low net and 1st, 2nd and 3rd team low gross scores.

The featured $1,000,000 Shootout had 3 players shooting for the biggest cash prize. All the players were part of the $50,000 Putting Contest with the top 5 qualifiers going for the 3-putt combination final shootout.

The morning began with a continental breakfast and the hot drinks were the biggest hit as the temperature dipped down to 42 degrees before the start of the tournament. Fee included: Breakfast, use of the driving range, cart fees, 18 holes on the superb course, all contests, the 3 hole-in-one prizes (a 2004 Ford Mustang GT, a 2004 Ford F150 SuperCrew both supplied by Jarrett Ford of Haines City and a 2003 Yamaha V-Star 1100 sponsored by Winter Haven Warriors SDA Pathfinder Club), the $1,000,000 Shootout and the $50,000 Putting Contest, and lunch.
