Winter Haven's Varsity and eTrackers
Attend Heartland Area Camporee
High Destiny Campground, Okeechobee, Florida, January 16-19, 2003
Just as the Pathfinders arrived at the campground, so did the C-O-O-O-OLD weather. Frigid temperatures Friday and Saturday nights were in the low 30s, as Winter Haven's bravest campers endured the "Hardship Weather." The weekend included many activities: a concert by Winter Haven's own musical group SABB, talent show, numerous skits (some tied to worship), outdoor events such as: "Heartland Croquet", frisbee golf, a challenging "low ropes" course, "mohawk walk", and numerous other events all designed to emphasize and develop team-work skills. Sabbath church attire was "Class A Dress Uniforms" and Winter Haven's troops got First Place. Cold nor wind nor ice on the water could not deter these brave campers; they all had a great time at High Destiny.
