Sunday, July 22, 2007 found Mavis Brown celebrating her very first birthday party at the age of 80. Mavis was blessed to have all of her children with her with the exception of one son in Jamaica who could not attend. Also many of her grand children were able to enjoy her very special day. Between Mavis and her husband Joe, they have in excess of fifty grand children. The hall was decorated, the food ready, people were enjoying fellowshipping with each other, but there was something missing. THE GUEST OF HONOR. Mavis probably thought, since she had to wait 80 years for her first birthday party, we could certainly wait an hour or so for her grand enterance.

Well, folks, Mavis did arive and totally enjoyed - like a buterfly going from flower to flower -going around and spending time with and talking to everyone. As you can see by the pictures, everyone had a great time. The children having played all about the building were waiting for the spoils of the party, THE BALLOONS! Of course there was all the food as well as the cake and ice cream to enjoy. Mavis, we all had a swell time and perhaps you will invite us to your next birthday party. Just don't wait so long for the next one.
