WELCOME ONE AND ALL ~ We are delighted to have the privilege of worshiping together on this beautiful Sabbath morning

WELCOME ONE AND ALL ~ We are delighted to have the privilege of worshiping together on this beautiful Sabbath morning.  We pray the voice of God will speak to your heart and that you will see Jesus in all we do.

FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY ~ Please accept our personal invitation to enjoy a delightful lunch buffet today following the worship service.  This is a wonderful time for us all to form friendships and to enjoy the blessings of lunch together as part of the “Family of God.” Remember, enjoy the worship service, then the lunch that follows.

YOUTH SERVICE ~ The young people of our church hold a weekly worship service between the end of Sabbath School and the time of the children’s sermon in the main sanctuary.  There is no age requirement, however all under 12 who attend must have their parents permission.  We thank Christine Duncan for being their adult sponsor.

CARING MINISTRY ~ Join today to bring a note of cheer and a verse of happiness to the residents of Palm Gardens Nursing Home.  This afternoon, 2:30 pm.

GIVE KIDS THE WORLD ~ “The earliest ministry of our church.”  Join tomorrow, 7:30 a.m., to serve breakfast to, and bring a word of cheer to, Make A Wish families.

SIGN-UP SHEET ~ There is a “Sign-up” sheet on the bulletin board in the foyer for your attendance at Give Kids the World.  Your participation is needed.  Sign up today for a position of service. NOTE: New volunteers must have an application submitted two weeks in advance in order to participate on Sunday.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY OF PRAYER ~

Today is designated as a day of prayer and provides an opportunity for women to strengthen their bonds with each other and with God. It is a time to pray together for women and their concerns, both in the local church and around the world, thus creating a spiritual network of empathy and understanding among Adventist women.

Our prayer emphasis will include the local church and its leaders, members, children, recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile and joint ADRA and Women’s Ministries initiative: enditnow: “Adventists Say No to Violence Against Women.”  Jesus calls on all of us to raise our voices against the evil of violence of every kind against women and girls around the world.

We will meet right after pot luck fellowship in one of the available class rooms. For the women that cannot attend we are requesting that you take time to present these prayer requests during a special time of prayer on your own or with a prayer partner.

COOKING SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS ~ We thank ALL those who worked tirelessly to make this year’s cooking school a tremendous success.  I could never have a more dedicated group of partners in ministry than those of you who made this program such a success.  I am BLESSED beyond words for each of you.  God Bless!  Pastor Wally.

WEIGHT LOSS SEMINAR ~ Monday eve., 6:30 pm. Make a resolution with God to become more physically fit.  This weekly seminar will assist those of us who could benefit from losing 10, 20, 50 lbs. or more.  The meetings are a maximum of one hour; the weigh-ins are private.

MIDWEEK HOUR OF POWER ~ Join together for our Small Group Study as we focus on “The Radical Teachings of Jesus.”  This study by DVD with study/discussion guide will lead us to a closer walk with Jesus, and a renewed faith in the power and love of God.  Bring your Bible and join us in the church sanctuary for this enriching time.

MARCH BOARD MEETINGS ~ The Church Board will meet Thur., March 11, 7:00 pm.  The School Board meets, Thurs., March 18, 7 pm.   All Board members, plan to attend. Members of the Winter Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church are welcome to peruse the monthly financial statements available to those present at the respective board meetings.

Register today and begin sharing Jesus with friends and family.

WEB SITE MINISTRY ~ www.WinterHavenSDA.org.  Our Internet presence reaching community and guests.

REMEMBER OUR CHILDREN ~ School Operating income is dependant on your help.  SAFE, (Student Aid for Education) Funds are vital for the stability of our school.  Please mark your donations on the tithe envelope, “SAFE”.  Our church’s school children benefit from your generous gifts of kindness.

CAMP MEETING 2010--It's a first! Camp Meeting this year is on the wooded acreage of beautiful Camp Kulaqua in High Springs, March 4-7. Info about accommodations at varying costs as well as meals at the cafeteria may be obtained at: www.floridaconference.com/campmeeting/ or by calling 386-454-1351.

SUPPORT OF OUR SERVICE PERSONNEL ~ It is important that we send cards periodically (the more often the better) to our service men and women, especially those in high risk areas of combat.  There is a “pouch” on the bulletin board that contains the name and address of family members who are in these areas of the world.  Take a name slip from the pouch and send a card.  It might be the note that saves their life.  NOTE: If you have family members you would like to have included, please get the name and full address to Mrs. Wanda Beck.

INVESTMENT? ~ Even a turtle doesn't get ahead unless it sticks its neck out.  Have you stuck your neck out for Sabbath School Investment?  It's not too late to get started.  Our Investment goal for this year is $1,000.00.

FOOD PANTRY HOURS ~ We are blessed to be able to help our community through the Food Pantry.  If you are aware of any families that are in need of assistance, please inform our Compassion Ministry team leader, Sheila Hurst-Bastin, director of Community Services.  The Winter Haven Food Pantry  will next be OPEN Tues., March 16, 12 noon to 2 pm.

VOLUNTEER CLASSROOM HELP — We are in need of four to eight volunteers who will come to the school to work with the children, and under Mrs. Turner’s guidance; to assist in reading, projects and general classroom guidance.  Help is needed four days a week, three hours per day.  Example, eight volunteers might only need to help once every other week. (More time is available, if you so desire.) Call Mrs. Turner, 604-3333.

ADVENTURER MINISTRY PROJECTS —

Coupons for Troops — Our club has adopted a Naval Base in Sigonella, Sicily and will be collecting Manufacturer’s Coupons for the use of the troops at their local PX/BX/Commissary.  Coupons can be used even if they are as much as one month expired.  (No restaurant, local store ie: Publix, or chain stores.)  All other coupons are useable.  There will be a “Coupon” box in the church foyer for you to place your coupons for the troops.

One Day Church — All Florida clubs are joining together to get five churches built.  Each church can be built in one day for a cost of $3,000.  A donor will match each dollar the Adventurers raise, so for all five (5) churches the Florida clubs will only need to raise $7,500.  This is a year-long project for our Adventurers.

FOOD PANTRY SUPPLIES — We are in great need of canned soups (Chunky Style is especially nice) with pop-top type lids.  These will be used to supplement the diminishing supplies from the area-wide Food Bank program.  Donations can be left in the foyer, or on the counter in the “old kitchen” at the end of the hall.

SHARING MINISTRY,  FREE BOOKS ~ There is a “Free Books” table in the Gym.  If you have books to donate, or if you want to take books, this will be our Book Swap Table.  Remember, friends, Good books . . . fight truth decay!

MEN OF THE CHURCH ~ All men, ages 13 and up, are invited to a Men’s Ministry “Time of Prayer,” Feb. 20, immediately following the lunch buffet.  The group will meet in the primary (the last room on the right of the hallway) classroom for prayer and inspiration.  Talk to Paul Johnson or Seque Coley for information.  Remember: There is Great Power in Many Prayers!

INSURANCE FOR CHURCH ~ The insurance, $11,500, has been paid.  The church insurance fund shows a deficit of nearly $9,500. If every church family donated just $15 per month to the insurance fund we could, over the course of a year, have enough funds on hand to pay this bill.  Please pray about what you can do to help pay off this large bill. Some may not be able to give large amounts, while others may be able to give more.

LUNCH BUFFET MINISTRY ~ Thank you to all who have signed up to become a part of this important ministry.  The listing of the New Groups and the Schedule are available in the foyer.  New groups will be shepherded by Susie Hart and Elma Hart.

FAITHFUL TITHING is opening the heart joyfully in order to return back to God His tithe for the support of ministry right here in Winter Haven and throughout the world.  It is a great way to be involved in God’s work.

REVERENCE ~ The church sanctuary is to be a place to show reverence for the presence of God.  We are told that nothing of the ordinary, even common talk, is to come into the sanctuary. Our children are to be taught that when they enter they do so with reverence and respect to God.

ALUMINUM CANS FOR PATHFINDERS ~ Please continue to recycle the aluminum so we can protect our resources.  Pathfinders are again collecting the aluminum as part of their fundraising.

FOOD BANK MINISTRY ~ Sheila Hurst-Bastin, the director of Community Services tell us that the supplies at the Food Bank are in need of  replenishing.  Public supplies are limited, therefore WE NEED YOUR HELP! Canned goods—green beans, corn, potatoes, mixed vegetables, sweet peas, peaches, pears and mixed fruit (no pineapple).  Additional items needed: creamy peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, noodles, macaroni and cheese dinners, boxed pasta salads, butter, margarine and oil.  Canned milk and powdered milk are always helpful.  We are grateful for the generosity of a church family.

GOOD NEIGHBOR ETTIQUITE ~ We ask that all who stay to enjoy the Luncheon Buffet be seated at the tables. We will then be dismissing by table.  Children under 14 are asked to go through line with their families, even if they plan to eat at the tables outside.  Please be sure the outside tables and the surrounding area is free of litter.

L.A.M.B. PRISON MINISTRY ~ Children born to mothers in prison offers special opportunities to share a working gospel.  Talk to Trudy Mike, WH coordinator.

FUND RAISING OPPORTUNITIES ~

General Mills UPC Code, School benefit. Anytime.

Worthington (etc.) Food Labels, Church Benefit

          Aluminum Cans, Continuing, Pathfinders

PRAYING FOR OUR CHILDREN ~ Franchising the young people of our church involves more than just asking them to do “something” for God.  We all, I believe without exception, have either children (regardless of age) or loved ones (siblings, nieces and nephews, etc.) who are the burden of our hearts.  We continue this ministry for these precious jewels, the joy of our hearts, to be re-united in a greater way with an Almighty God.

PRIVACY POLICY ~ Please take time to review the church’s “Web Site Privacy Policy” at the bottom of each page on our web site:  www.WinterHavenSDA.org/

NOT A GORMET COOK? ~ There is an important place for you in the “Lunch Buffet Ministry.”  We always need things like cottage cheese, potato chips, pickles, olives, carrots or completed relish plates.  These will nicely add to the prepared buffet.  In addition, the kitchen staff always appreciates a hand in the clean-up after the dinner.  Your help with dishes and table clean-up will compliment the work of our great chefs.

A PARKING OPTION ~ If it is not an inconvenience, please consider parking in the Eye Clinic parking lot just adjacent to the church property on the East side.

MISSION STATEMENT ~ “Reaching Spiritually Lost People with God’s Redemptive Amazing Grace” ~

Defined: The Seventh-day Adventist Church at Winter Haven exists to communicate to all people the everlasting gospel of God’s love in the context of the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14:6-12.

God’s redemptive grace is revealed in the life, death, resurrection, and high priestly ministry of Jesus Christ.  This message is to lead all who hear to choose to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord and to become united with His remnant church.

When we walk in the footsteps of Jesus, we will nurture each other that all may become disciples of Christ, thus preparing a people for His soon return.

Friends, there is a ministry (perhaps several) for each of us to become actively involved in the “Process” of sharing the good news of Salvation to our families and to our communities.  Remember, there is but one reason to be a Christian—Preparing a People to be Ready for Jesus to Come.  It begins first in our own hearts and then reaches out to our families, friends and to our circle of influence.  It happens when each of us daily asks God—“Help me to be just a little more like Jesus today, than I was yesterday!”

If you are a guest today, we hope you will sense the presence of Joy, Delight, and Thankfulness you have brought to us by your visit.  We hope you will consider making the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Winter Haven your church home.  If there is anything we can do to enhance your visit, speak to the pastor or one of the worship leaders.
