The sun was just coming up, and so were the skills of the Warrior Drill Team. “Although they had only been practicing for about four weeks, the team placed third in the Drill Team Competition.” Says Ken Brown, Drillmaster. The drill team thanks Ronald Cruz, brother of Pathfinder Director, Rosellen Brown, from the National Guard. Ron helped the pathfinders shape up their drill repertoire. Drill team members were: Bernnie Brandt, Francois Crawford, Theodore Crawford, Christopher Coleman, Marlon Brown, Angel Rodriguez, and JC Lynch, captain.
Later that morning, Winter Haven’s newest Master Guide, Lester Pratt, joined the team for the Camp Meeting/Red Zone Pathfinder Parade. Honor Guest at the parade was Desmond T. Doss, Medal of Honor recipient. Bernnie Brandt had the honor to escort the Dosses around campus. At the end of the parade, all the pathfinders and adventurers filed into the Main Auditorium for the Awards Ceremony.
Winter Haven is proud of our young people and their marvelous accomplishments: Adventurer, Club of the Year; Pathfinder, Club of the Year; Challenger Club of the year, JC Lynch, Outstanding Pathfinder of the Year; and numerous other individual accolades. Adventurers were also great award recipients: Britani Brown, Little Lamb of the Year; Austin Brown, Eager Beaver of the Year; Megan Mike, Eager Beaver of the Year; Alissa Coleman, Busy Bee of the Year; Destiny Fortier, Sunbeam of the Year and Sherika James, Sunbeam of the year.
